A post I wanted to write in early October, but archive.org was down back then, so gifcities was too, and I wanted some nice gifs for this one c:

Crazy Taxi is THE arcade game for me. (I can also recommend the sequels, getting Crazy Taxi 3 to run on Arch is pretty easy! having a lot of fun with it, thx proton)

I cant express my love for this game properly in a text, so I will just say some general things:

It has some techs too which make the game pretty 'complex' and fun in times, there is room for endless improval but you dont really need improval, you can just have fun, do some cool dashes and drifts. In 3, you can even jump! (and more maps and characters)

You will most likely naturally improve when you begin to learn where the locations are and how to best reach them, there are some pretty cool shortcuts!

Soundtrack is banging too, I like both the original soundtrack with The Offspring (I heard it in 3 on the Arcade Map) and the Steam One :D

Crazy Taxi also features the Crazy Box (or Crazy Pyramid) which has a lot of minigames, like a long jump, popping balloons, ... I wont spoil everything, you should try yourself!

Because it was an arcade game, you play on a timer and for a highscore, and you get a license. I actually reached the CRAZY license already, the highest :>

crazytaxi.net has interesting information on the game and techs if you dont want to figure it all out yourself; the Crazy Box also has explanations for the tech, I learned them all from there.

The biggest crime is that Crazy Taxi was delisted from Steam in early December, with some other older Sega Games. >:(

I hope if you try it, you have a lot of fun! As the games are not available anymore through normal means, I would suggest checking out archive.org or myabandonware, they probably have it.
