I've made a new art piece! I've actually drawn this in a single session on a train ride.

Ralsei from Deltarune, casting magic. There is blue light in the background, he stands on dark blue grass. In this image, Ralsei is only a silhouette.

And, making this in a single sitting, I realised something. I used to draw a lot more, and more regularly, now it's just random bursts of inspiration. I was really perfectionist. I wanted everything to be "good", to my current standard of art, the quality of my art definitely improved since I have started, and I think it has improved in a good way. It looks good . But what does that even mean? Is my old art bad, if I think the new one is better?

I'm not sure this line of thinking is good. The sprite I based the Ralsei drawing of, was the one of Ralsei casting magic. In the sprite, his one leg was rised, but in the perspective I drew it in, it looked weird and unhealthy. I tried to change some things, but the leg didn't improve. I got annoyed at the imperfection.

The train moving and making me mess up my lines sometimes, didn't help.

I ended up drawing the second leg neutral too, as it looked way more natural and that it should be the way.
I'm not sure how to avoid this type of thinking, but I beg and advice you, just do your thing. I'm not the best at it either, but perfection is neither feasible, nor enjoyable. It just annoyed me and almost stopped me from continuing that drawing.

(Still, if you are tired/don't want to, don't force yourself to finish/do something)

You will probably never draw like the old masters, like Monet, Van Gogh or Picasso. So why even bother drawing! /hyp /nsrs

You can see, this line of thinking SUCKS. Do your thing, imperfections make us who we are and makes you and your creations beautiful.
I'm very glad I came so far with my art, and I'm happy I finished that Ralsei picture, I love it :D

Be yourself, everyone else exists already /hj
